 Muse

Muse is a collection of erotic poetry both from the narrator's point of view and from the perspective of an artist's muse. The poems are both experience and fictions but it is difficult to say where experience ends and fiction starts. Celebratory, lusty, cynical and love weary, these poems are sexual relationships with daggers.

The Dead Centre Of The Universe And Other Places

This collection begins with a small series of poems about when the poet moved to and arrived in Leeuwarden. The other poems are poems that were written over the years and never fitted into a project, places visited, experiences experienced and musings.

Explaining women

These poems are based on a mixture of fact, fiction, memory, gossip and myth. I can no more tell the reader where reality ends and imagination begins than I can tell myself. All the material for these poems were accummulated over time, either through direct experience, chat, gossip and a fertile imagination. What is false memory and what is reality? I know some experiences and events to be true, others I know to be false and yet others that blur on the horizon of memory. While writing these poems and given the prevailing puritanical nature of the times, something denied by the new puritans of our age, I have done my best not to censor myself. Political correctness has no place in the arts but it has clearly taken a foothold. Again this is often vigorously denied by those who police the arts. It's all opinion. I beg to differ. All the same, I gladly lay myself open to whatever charge is made. Writing these poems was fun and spiced with a degree of glee that I might upset a few of the professionally outraged.

Shooting Luisa

Shooting Luisa is an experimental work, putting together photos from a photo shoot and poems inspired by Luisa and the shoot. It was difficult to decide where to begin, as it felt I was putting the cart before the horse. I approached model Luisa Galotti and asked her if she would be interested in the experiment. Once she agreed, I realised I then required a concept, which again felt like I was approaching the project back to front. However, once I hit on a photo shoot being the subject, the pieces started to fall into place. As to whether the experiment works, that is for others to decide.
